Jacious Sears, a senior at Tennessee, placed second in both the women's invitational 60-meter dash final and the invitational 200 meters at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic at Albuquerque Convention Center. Sears ran 22.57 seconds in the 200 to take over the collegiate lead and followed that effort by clocking 7.09 in the 60-meter dash final, the second-fastest mark in NCAA Division 1 this season. Sears took second to former Texas standout and reigning Division 1 60 and 200 champion Julien Alfred of Texas, the female recipient of the Bowerman Award and a first-year professional competitor representing Preeminence Sports who ran 7.04 in the 60 in 22.16 in the 200.
